About The Position
The Medical Assistant (MA) is accountable for basic clerical and technical supportive services within a defined scope of practice under the direction of a licensed physician or surgeon. The incumbent functions as a patient care team member assisting licensed staff in the performance and provision of safe and efficient patient care. Valley Children’s Healthcare is one of the largest pediatric healthcare networks in the nation, providing high-quality, comprehensive care exclusively for children in Central California, from before birth to young adulthood. The network includes over 670 physicians and 3,500 staff, delivering specialized medical and surgical services for conditions ranging from common to highly complex. This includes a 358-bed stand-alone children’s hospital with a Regional Level IV neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), a leading pediatric cancer and blood disorders center, and a pediatric heart center. The organization also participates in and supports community initiatives.
Requirements
- High School Diploma/G.E.D.
- BLS - Basic Life Support - AHA - American Heart Association within 30 days of hire or transfer into position
Nice To Haves
- Minimum six (6) months Working in a healthcare environment as a Medical Assistant
- Bilingual Skills Preferred
