As a Medical Assistant at Dignity Health Medical Foundation clinics, now part of CommonSpirit Health, the role involves ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the day for patients and the clinical team. This includes proactively preparing patient charts, ensuring all information is obtained and up-to-date. The position involves assisting multiple patients daily, depending on the number of physicians on-site. Success in this role requires enthusiasm to help others, efficiency, and empathy for patients. Requirements

• High School Graduate Or GED
• Satisfactory completion of a formal Medical Assistant program pursuant to the Division of Allied Health Professions or military training that is equivalent to an accredited Medical Assistant program (determination by Dignity Health Medical Foundation HR department in conjunction with the State Division of Allied Health Professions)
• Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire

Nice To Haves

• Six (6) month's experience in an outpatient setting as a Medical Assistant

Responsibilities

• Assisting in preparing patients for examinations or procedures
• Assisting with procedures
• Relaying instructions from the physician to a patient or authorized person
• Collecting patient data
• Administering medications specifically directed by the physician
• Performing accurate vital sign measurements and documentation
• Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe environment
• Performing patient care services that support the physician / provider's practice under the clinical supervision of the Physician, Registered Nurse, Nurse Practitioner, Physician’s Assistant, or Licensed Vocational Nurse
• Managing medical records- charts and EMR
• Communicate and document any patient concerns to physicians, physician’s assistants, or nurses
• Work with physicians, insurance providers, and pharmacies to obtain authorizations for patient medication, including refills
• Consistently demonstrates customer service expectations as outlined in the Dignity Health Medical Foundation audit tools
• Consistently makes eye contact and smiles
• Demonstrates active listening with positive can do attitude
• Consistently respectful, concerned, and shows empathy
• Uses scripted greeting: "Thank you for choosing _______________ this is (your name) how can I help you"
