About The Position

Medical Assistant – Gastroenterology Practice
Our busy gastroenterology practice is looking for a dependable and patient-focused Medical Assistant to join our team. This position supports physicians and advanced practice providers in providing high-quality care to patients in our Wethersfield and South Windsor offices. We are looking for someone who is organized, compassionate, and comfortable working in a fast-paced medical environment.
This position offers a supportive work environment. We are committed to fostering a positive workplace culture. This position offers a Monday through Friday schedule, with Thursdays off, from 8:30 AM to 4:30 pm with an opportunity to work from home on occasion.

Requirements

• Medical Assistant experience preferred
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to multitask in a busy practice
• Must have reliable transportation to travel to our Wethersfield and South Windsor offices
• Demonstrated written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• Athena experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and obtain vital signs and medical history
• Assist providers with patient care and documentation
• Manage prescription refill requests
• Coordinate labs, imaging, and referrals
• Communicate with patients regarding results and follow-up instructions
• Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
• Help maintain efficient patient flow throughout the day
