Requirements

  • Associates degree related to this field
  • Completion of a Medical Assistant Program
  • OR
  • 1 year of Medical Assistant
  • Experience with EHR- Athena is a Plus!

Responsibilities

  • Greeting patients as they arrive to the clinic and assisting them with forms and consents
  • Manage appointment scheduling for patients, ensuring an organized and efficient flow of patients through the facility.
  • Collect and update patient information, including demographics, medical history, medications, allergies, and insurance details.
  • Reviewing, working, and managing tasks received in the EHR.
  • Managing electronic health records (EHR) by accurately recording patient data, test results, and treatment plans.
  • Handling patient copays
  • Verifying patient insurance coverage and obtaining necessary authorizations for medical procedures.
  • Supporting inbound calls for our patients and returning voicemails to confirm appointments or address clinical questions.
  • Communicating with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals via phone and email.
  • Following up on imaging, lab, DME orders as well as referrals.
  • Gathering patient medical history and relevant information before appointments.
  • Checking patients in and preparing patients for their provider visit
  • Assisting in clinic and virtual patients with filling out forms and consents
  • Educating patients on medications, and post-treatment care, along with preventive health measures and healthy lifestyle practices.
  • Close out duties for clinic- clean up, organize, ect
