About The Position

Position Summary: The Certified Medical Assistant will support physicians and other members of the health care team at San Antonio Podiatry Associates by gathering patient medical history, obtaining and recording vital statistics, and occasionally assisting with minor, office-based procedures. They will enter the required information into EMR to ensure the quality of care.

Requirements

• HIPAA and OSHA knowledge and Compliance
• Certified Medical Assistant Certification required
• Medical office experience preferred
• Must be professional and courteous
• Podiatry terminology knowledge/experience preferred
• Excellent communication skills
• Organizations skills
• Ability to work with a team or independently
• Knowledge of EMR/Computer Skills
• LMR Certification preferred
• Must be able to walk/stand for long periods of time.
• May be required to bend, reach and lift up to 20 pounds as needed throughout the day.
• Work schedule is Monday through Friday
• Travel to other locations may be occasionally necessary

Nice To Haves

• Medical office experience preferred
• Podiatry terminology knowledge/experience preferred
• LMR Certification preferred

Responsibilities

• Greet patients promptly and courteously
• Perform duties under the supervision and direction of the physician
• Assist Physician in the exam room
• Provide patient instruction as directed by the physician
• Triage patients as needed
• Complete patient paperwork and enter into the EMR at the time of encounter
• Update medical records
• Prepare tools and trays for physicians
• Answer phones, schedule appointments, clean and stock exam rooms
• Create/Transfer orders
