About The Position

We are looking for a full time Medical Assistant to join our team in Vancouver, WA. This position is responsible for patient care activities to assist within our Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PMR) practice and will work with multiple providers and rotate to multiple locations. The ideal candidate will possess great organizational skills and energy, a can-do attitude, a desire to learn the practice, and a collaborative team spirit. The candidate will also possess excellent interpersonal skills, a superior commitment to patient care, and the ability to work closely with patients and physicians.

Requirements

  • Graduation from high school or GED. Graduate from a Medical Assisting Program.
  • BLS Certification. Valid Washington State certification to practice medical assisting.
  • One year of work experience, preferably in a clinic or medical office setting.
  • Knowledge of examination, diagnostic, and treatment room procedures. Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to maintain a safe work environment. Skill in maintaining records and recording test results. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and the public. Ability to read, understand and respond to detailed oral and written instructions. Ability to communicate clearly. Ability reason independently, computer proficiency and dependability.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients to be seen by the provider by escorting them to exam rooms, taking vitals, and doing chart documentation.
  • Assist patients in patient flow through the clinic.
  • Schedule and prepare packets for minor and minimally invasive procedures for both in-office procedure rooms and outpatient ambulatory surgery centers.
  • Prepare exam rooms and instruments for examination and testing. Stocks supplies.
  • Maintain workstation, exam rooms, and procedure rooms by cleaning and stocking.
  • Label, prepare, and maintain proper storage for specimens and tests. Ensure tests are picked up by lab personnel and obtain results.
  • Ensure lab reports, imaging, and other information are available to providers.
  • Assist providers with orders and referrals both internal and external.
  • Assist providers with diagnostic procedures and treatments such as NCVs, ultrasound-guide evaluations, and injections.
  • Reinforce patient education and provide communication between patients and provider.
  • Check appointment schedule and assist Call Center with physician’s patient schedule.
  • Attend required meetings and in-services, and participate in committees as requested.
  • Work at different Rebound locations as needed and scheduled by supervisor.
  • Maintain a high degree of confidentiality and abide by all HIPAA rules and regulations.
  • Perform other related work as required.
