About The Position

Since 1970, Salud has been committed to providing a Medical Home to patients, where medical, dental, behavioral health services, and clinical pharmacists work together and coordinate efforts in a team-based system of care. We strive to improve the quality of our patient's lives who would otherwise have limited access to health care. We serve all individuals regardless of their insurance status or ability to pay. As a Medical Assistant, you will provide welcoming care to patients, serving as the first step in treatment prior to seeing the Doctor, NP, or PA. You will determine the nature of the patient’s visit, obtain vitals, and provide thorough and concise chart documentation. Additionally, you will maintain a clean and organized environment for both patients and staff. The medical practice is described as lively, with a focus on treating patients with respect and concern for their physical, emotional, and mental well-being, fostering a fun and vibrant atmosphere.

Requirements

  • The ability to work with people from all walks of life and to meet them in their place of need
  • Current Medical Assistant Certificate
  • If not certified/registered upon hire, required to complete the Medical Assistant certification/registration testing within 3 months of hire
  • If an employee does not pass, they will be given an additional 3 months to retake the test
  • All Medical Assistants must be certified within 6 months of hire and certification must be maintained throughout employment
  • Medical Assistants without any formal Medical Assistant training are required to have a current Certification/Registration as a Medical Assistant
  • High school diploma or equivalent required

Nice To Haves

  • Successful completion of a formal Medical Assistant training program, a minimum of 6 months in length, is preferred
  • Previous healthcare experience is preferred but not required
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide welcoming care to our patients
