About The Position

Responsible for assisting the medical team with a combination of basic administrative and clinical duties in a fast-paced environment. Provide accurate and timely information, service, and assistance to ensure a seamless experience for both the SummitStone clients and providers. Often the first party our clients interact with, this role is responsible for creating a calm, welcoming, and safe environment where healing can happen.

Requirements

  • Valid and current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) required.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Experience working in a behavioral health care setting.
  • Proficiency in medical terminology.
  • Proficiency with data entry, transcription, and dictation.
  • Knowledge of Electronic Health Records.
  • EMT-Basic with IV certification EMT-Intermediate or
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or
  • Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) or
  • Medical Support Technician or
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or
  • Valid Colorado driver’s license or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire and a clean driving record.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Qualified Medication Administration Personnel (QMAP), or Colorado Medication Aide Certificate if not part of licensure required

Nice To Haves

  • More than three years of experience in related client care settings preferred
  • Experience working in an acute care or walk-in clinic setting preferred.
  • Bilingual/bi-cultural preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality patient care by providing prescribed medical treatment, implementing medical support services, and performing various clinical and administrative duties.
  • Administer medication and treatments as prescribed. Gather, monitor, and record patient symptoms, history, and changes in their conditions.
  • Performs standard care procedures like drawing blood, checking vital signs, or collecting lab samples.
  • Perform administrative duties, such as scheduling appointments and managing patient flow, answering phones, recording, and updating medical histories, contact information, and verifying patient information.
  • Coordinate, consult, and problem solve behavioral health care and intervention with interdisciplinary team members and providers.
  • Consistently and independently follow established safety procedures. Report any medical or medication errors by the end of shift.
  • Perform all duties including and not limited to providing data collection, working at any site, educating clients, administering medications (per scope), taking vital signs, triaging clients by telephone/walk in, obtaining prior authorizations, performing medication refills, providing lab work, processing inventory, completing paperwork, and providing treatment follow-ups.
  • Document and audit the medical record for all medically necessary client care to ensure continuity of care.
