About The Position

A ProMedica Medical Assistant is an integral part of the patient-centric care delivery model, operating within an office setting. This role involves direct communication with patients and co-workers, as well as collaboration with leadership to suggest improvements in patient care. The Medical Assistant is responsible for ensuring a safe patient experience from arrival, which includes gathering patient data, documenting reasons for visits, and obtaining vital signs, all while striving for clinical excellence. Effective communication is crucial, extending to interactions with patients, peers, and the entire healthcare team. Additionally, the Medical Assistant demonstrates clinical knowledge by handling patient phone calls and relaying messages to providers or nurses.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • BLS (CPR), must present a current BLS course card from the AHA at time of employment or obtain certification within 90 days of hire

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in medical office preferred
  • Certified or Registered Medical Assistant
