The Medical Assistant completes all activities accurately, with high quality, and in a timely manner. Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • BLS certification (American Red Cross or American Heart Association) at time of hire
  • CPOE certification for order entry within two weeks of start date
  • If less than one year of Medical Assistant experience, must hold one of the following certifications: CCMA – Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (NHA), CMA – Certified Medical Assistant (AAMA), RMA – Registered Medical Assistant (AMT), NCMA – National Certified Medical Assistant (NCCT), NRCMA – Nationally Registered Medical Assistant (NAHP)
  • If no Medical Assistant certification, must obtain one within 15 months of hire
  • In lieu of a Medical Assistant certification, one of the following: 1+ years of Medical Assistant experience in a hospital or urgent care setting; 1+ years of phlebotomy experience; Graduate of an accredited nursing program (LPN or RN); EMT – Emergency Medical Technician certification; Paramedic certification; CNA – Certified Nursing Assistant certification

Responsibilities

  • Register patients and verify insurance and documentation
  • Schedule appointments and process co-pays
  • Prepare patients for examination and record medical history
  • Perform vital signs and preliminary patient assessments
  • Conduct point-of-care testing (flu, strep, urinalysis, ECG, HCG)
  • Assist providers with patient care and procedures
  • Maintain exam rooms, supplies, and medical records
  • Answer patient questions and coordinate referrals
  • Perform opening/closing duties and maintain equipment quality checks
  • Support a safe, organized, and patient-centered clinical environment
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by leaders

Benefits

  • Minimum hourly rate starts at $17/hour
  • Bonus potential of up to $600/month
  • Sign on bonus up to $2,000 (for eligible applicants)
