About The Position
Temp RPM Staffing is seeking a compassionate and skilled Medical Assistant to support a busy cardiology office in Sherman, Texas. The ideal candidate will deliver exceptional patient care while playing a vital part in assisting with clinical procedures, patient interactions, and smooth clinic operations in a fast-paced cardiology environment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 1–2 years of medical assisting experience
- Proficient in performing EKGs, using EMR systems, and executing basic medical procedures
- Excellent communication, empathy, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced team setting
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
Nice To Haves
- Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or CCMA) strongly preferred
- Cardiology or specialty clinic background highly desired
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations by recording vital signs, medical history, and current medication lists
- Assist cardiologists with diagnostic procedures including EKGs, stress tests, Holter monitoring, and echocardiograms
- Administer medications and injections as directed by the physician
- Educate patients on pre- and post-procedure care, medications, and heart-healthy lifestyle choices
- Maintain accurate electronic medical records (EMR)
- Schedule appointments, manage referrals, and coordinate patient follow-ups
- Ensure medical equipment and supplies are properly stocked and maintained
- Perform phlebotomy and specimen collection as needed
- Provide excellent customer service while handling patient inquiries
- Strictly follow infection control protocols and HIPAA guidelines
