Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited MA program or two years Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) experience .
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) training within 6 months of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Two years’ mental health experience, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assures that all clients receive clinically sound information and ongoing care for behavioral health needs.
  • Performs client assessments by checking vital signs, a physical exam by measuring height and weight, and obtains the client’s history by asking questions about conditions, medications, and allergies.
  • Collects information and communicates medication requests and client problems to the provider.
  • Responds to phone calls for crises intervention by providing brief direction, recommendations, and crises intervention.
  • Requests consultation with social workers and therapists for clients when necessary.
  • Delivers high quality care appropriate to the age and educational level of the client.
