Shriners Children’s New England serves over 13,000 patients per year and has partnerships with Boston University School of Medicine, Albany Medical College and Bay State Medical Center. Shriners Children's New England has an opportunity for a Medical Assistant to join our team! The position is day shift, Monday - Friday. The pay range for this position is $19.69 hourly to $29.54 hourly. Compensation is determined based on years of experience and department equity.

Requirements

• National Board for Certification of Orthopedic Technology required in 12 months
• Certified Phlebotomy Technician within 12 months
• Basic Life Support (BLS)

Nice To Haves

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) - by Certification by the American Association for Medical Assistants
• Three years' experience as a Medical Assistant
• Associate's degree
• Two years' pediatric care experience

Responsibilities

• Under the leadership of the Outpatient Department Manager and the indirect supervision of Physicians/APPs, the Medical Assistant assists with the delivery of patient care in the clinic by maintaining clinic flow, obtains routine clinical information on patients/family, provides physical care of the patients, procures and maintains par levels of clinic supplies, and provides light clerical assistance.
• Transcribing of delegated orders into the EMR
• Casting/splint application, maintenance guidance and removal
• Obtaining specimens, including performing venipuncture
• This is not an all-inclusive list of this job’s responsibilities. The incumbent may be required to perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
