About The Position

Florida Urology is expanding our footprint throughout the Tampa Bay area and we would like to add to our Medical Assistant team. Our office is fast-paced. This will not be a boring job. We recently went in to a services agreement with Tampa General Hospital and have an increase in patients and are busier than ever. We offer a competitive hourly rate and benefits for our full-time employees. We have more than one provider and the office is always hopping. Your days will fly by! Requirements

  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Skilled at prioritizing tasks
  • Can communicate effectively, efficiently and in a timely matter with patients
  • Ability to perform phlebotomy and administer injections
  • Team player
  • Excellent knowledge of medical terminology
  • At least one year of MA experience required

Nice To Haves

  • Urology experience desired but not required
  • Epic experience always a plus!
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Taking medical histories and recording vital signs
  • Explaining treatment procedures to patients
  • Preparing patients for examination, and assisting the physician during the examination
  • Escort patients to exam rooms, interviews patients, measure vital signs, including weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and document all information in patient’s chart
  • Give instructions to patients as instructed by physician or physician assistant
  • Ensure all related reports, labs and information is filed is available inpatients’ medical records prior to their appointment
  • Keep exam rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies, maintain instruments, prepare sterilization as required
  • Take telephone messages and provide feedback and answers to patient/physician/pharmacy calls
  • Triage and process messages from patients and front office staff to physicians and physician assistants
  • Maintain all logs and required checks (i.e. refrigerator temperatures, emergency medications, expired medications, oxygen, cold sterilization fluid change, etc.)
