About The Position

We are seeking high-quality, experienced Medical Assistants to support U.S. Navy. This role is ideal for candidates who completed a formal, in-person Medical Assistant program, gained hands-on externship experience, and have since built recent, post-graduation MA experience in a clinical setting.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED AND Graduation from a formal Medical Assistant program that meets the following criteria: Program length of 3–12 months or longer, In-person instruction required (online-only programs do not qualify), In-person clinical externship completed as part of the program, Program must be accredited or approved by the Naval Base
  • Minimum of one (1) full year of Medical Assistant experience within the last three (3) years
  • Experience must be: Completed AFTER graduating from a qualifying MA program, Within the last three (3) years (January 2023 - January 2026), Hands-on clinical MA experience (all ages)
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA or Red Cross – hands-on)
  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Ability to pass all applicable background and security requirements
  • Two (2) professional letters of recommendation dated within the last two (2) years
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently
  • Physically capable of standing and/or sitting for extended periods and performing all essential duties

Responsibilities

  • Provide care to patients across the lifespan (Pediatrics to Geriatrics)
  • Prepare patients and exam rooms for visits
  • Review provider schedules and proactively prepare charts and documentation
  • Screen patients using clinic-approved questionnaires and protocols
  • Maintain and update Electronic Health Records (EHR) including MHS Genesis
  • Perform data entry for population health metrics and preventive care initiatives
  • Assist with administrative duties such as appointment scheduling and patient correspondence
  • Participate in daily team huddles and collaborative care planning
  • Support clinic workflow optimization and patient experience initiatives
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and compliant clinical environment
  • Assist with onboarding and orientation of new staff as assigned
