We pride ourselves on building relationships that stand the test of time with all individuals we encounter. Dermatology Specialists is looking for Medical Assistant to join our growing team. The Medical Assistant will work directly with the Clinical Manager and Physician in providing dermatological services and excellent patient care. All training will be provided on site, as well as a reimbursement for a 16-hour Derm Tech online course completed before starting. Hourly rate is starting at $20.00/hour for a full-time position, plus eligible for benefits, 401(k) and discounted cosmetic treatments.

Requirements

  • Candidates must possess a medical assistant diploma or must maintain an active nursing license and in good standing with the Minnesota Board of Nursing and maintain a current CPR/BLS certification.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology.
  • Professional demeanor and recognition of privacy considerations for patients and families
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace

Nice To Haves

  • Previous medical field experience preferred.
  • Experience in Dermatology and/or Mohs

Responsibilities

  • Perform rooming techniques and assisting physicians with procedures
  • Performing clinical tasks to support physicians such as: preparing patients for examinations as directed by the physician, obtaining history and chief complaint for office visit, assisting physicians with biopsies, and assisting physicians with select surgical and cosmetic procedures
  • Taking patient phone calls and relaying information between patient and physician
  • Accurately maintain the pathology process in its entirety
  • Select clinical procedures such as suture removal, dressing changes, and patch testing as ordered by the physician
  • Patient education as directed by the physician on treatment plans, procedures and medications
  • Sterilization of equipment, supplies, exam and procedure rooms using germicides, sterilizer or autoclave
  • Assign a triage priority based upon information available
  • Coordinate the needs of the patient with supporting pods and assist in problem solving related to the welfare of the patient
  • Document concisely, descriptively and legibly indicating patents’ needs
  • Other duties as assigned
