Requirements

Graduate of a Medical Assisting program, has RMA, CMA or ABR credentials or demonstrated Medical Assistant experience for more than 3 years.
For OHI clinics, EMT/Paramedics meet the qualifications for hire.
Must be knowledgeable of medical terminology, routine office procedures and medical instruments.
Must be skilled in the taking of vital signs.

Responsibilities

Individuals within this job classification are accountable for providing assistance under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Registered Technologist.
The Medical Assistant must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served.
This individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to function in an assistive role to provide patient care.
This individual must also understand the workflow of the department and perform functions to support that workflow.
