We deliver care for serious life-threatening injuries/illnesses, and your everyday health needs, including labor and delivery. We offer specialty care for heart/vascular disease, lung and sleep disorders, mental health conditions, and women's health. We offer a wide range of outpatient services, including diagnostic imaging, lab tests, respiratory therapy and rehabilitation therapy services. What You'll Do As a Medical Assistant, you'll report to the Practice Manager and work under the direction of the Clinical Supervisor and Office Supervisor. Under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures, you'll perform various clerical and patient care duties. Responsibilities include assisting the physician in support of medical care, phlebotomy, answering the telephone, admitting and discharging patients, and performing data entry.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or one year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
  • Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date.  American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • As a Medical Assistant you bring knowledge of and competency in performing patient care procedures, observations, treatments and techniques utilized by facility.  You have the ability to perform vena puncture.  You demonstrate a high level of interpersonal and communication skills necessary to consistently receive and greet visitors, clients, and staff members in a professional manner.  You demonstrate well developed communication skills to communicate effectively and clearly to a variety of internal and external contacts.  You bring knowledge of billing, office procedures and computer skills.  You demonstrate analytical skills necessary to solve patient problems and interpret data.  You promote collaboration and innovation in the clinical services to ensure an interdisciplinary approach to improving health care delivery and the quality of patient care.  You have the ability to perform EKG's and other procedures applicable to the practice.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and visitors professionally; assist as needed.
  • Assists with treatments ordered by physician as supervised by physician or registered nurse. Performs select clinical duties.
  • Interviews patients/participants, measures vital signs, and records information on patients/participants charts. Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients/participants.
  • Performs basic clerical duties including answering the phone, maintaining records, and filing.
  • Performs basic materials management functions such as ordering and stocking of supplies. Assists with maintaining a clean and orderly environment.
