About The Position

The Medical Assistant position is responsible for performing duties required to assist Healthcare providers (HCPs) at Cougar Health Services. The duties of the position include but are not limited to: assist in the examination and treatment of ambulatory patients; preparation of patient and environment for treatment; may conduct basic CLIA-waived laboratory tests; care of the patient after treatment; patient education, clerical reception functions; and other duties assigned. Additional Information: This is a full (100% FTE), permanent position. This position is overtime eligible. Monthly Salary: $3,665 to $4,882 | Range 41 (Steps A-M) | Successful candidates are typically hired at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28. In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position. Requirements

  • Completion of a Medical Assistant course accredited by the American Association of Medical Assistants or the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation (CAHEA);OR high school graduation or equivalent AND one year of experience providing direct patient care in a health care setting; OR equivalent education/experience.
  • Washington State Medical Assistant-Registered (MA-R) credential submitted within fourteen days of hire; OR Washington State Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C) upon hire.
  • Ability to learn and proficiently perform the MA skills outlined in this position description.
  • Perform MA skills competencies within probationary period and annually.
  • Maintain biannual Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working as a Medical Assistant.
  • Experience in documenting and maintaining electronic medical records.
  • Experience in preforming laboratory tests, procedures or treatments, such as specimen collection, procedures for sterilizing equipment and instruments.
  • Experience setting up for special procedures.
  • Experience in assisting with minor surgical procedures.
