Mary Bridge Children’s multi-disciplinary approach to care includes pediatric experts for emergency services, inpatient care, and outpatient specialty clinics, all specializing in kids and their unique needs. FTE: 0.01, Shift: Day, Schedule: Variable 12-hour shifts. This per diem Medical Assistant position would primarily support our Pediatric Urgent Care Clinic in Tacoma at James Center, but would also be required to pick up additional shifts and support our Pediatric Urgent Care Clinics in Gig Harbor and Olympia as needed. Work situations require performance of safe clinical skills within the scope of practice of the MA-C. The MA-C has continuous contact with physicians, APPs, nurses, front office staff, patients and their families/caregivers.

Requirements

  • Washington State Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C)
  • Current BLS certification

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a healthcare setting preferred

Responsibilities

  • Organizing patient flow in collaboration with the front office staff
  • Interviewing patients
  • Obtaining vital signs
  • Assisting patients in preparing for exams or treatments
  • Performing specimen collection, including venipuncture
  • Administration of medications in compliance with Washington State Department of Health regulations and documented competency
  • Relaying instructions/information to patients and their families/caregivers
  • Sending and receiving of patient medical records
  • Facilitating patient referrals
  • Preparing forms for patients
