About The Position

The Medical Assistant at Wellspire Medical Group is responsible for supporting providers and delivering high-quality patient care in a multi-specialty outpatient setting. This role combines clinical and administrative responsibilities to ensure efficient clinic operations and excellent patient experiences.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, NCMA, or equivalent) preferred or required.
Knowledge of EMR systems and clinical procedures.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Bilingual in English and Spanish required.

Responsibilities

Prepare patients for examinations by taking vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse, height, weight, BMI, oxygen saturation).
Document patient medical history, medications, allergies, and chief complaints in the EMR.
Assist providers with examinations, procedures, and in-office testing.
Perform point-of-care testing (glucose, strep, urinalysis, EKGs) and collect specimens.
Administer medications and immunizations as directed by the provider and within scope of certification.
Maintain clean, stocked, and sanitized exam rooms according to infection control standards.
Schedule appointments, follow-ups, referrals, and diagnostic testing.
Process medication refills and prior authorizations.
Respond to patient phone calls and electronic messages regarding care coordination.
Prepare and review patient charts prior to appointments.
Coordinate with pharmacies and outside providers as needed.
