About The Position

As a Medical Assistant, you will ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the day for patients and the clinical team. This involves proactively preparing patient charts, ensuring all information is current, and managing multiple patients daily depending on the number of physicians on-site. Success in this role requires enthusiasm, efficiency, and empathy. This position serves as a float pool resource to various clinics within a designated local region.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate General Studies, upon hire or High School GED General Studies, upon hire
  • Successfully completed Medication Aide 40-hour course or current/valid Medication Aide certification by state agency required if applicable., upon hire
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, within 30 Days

Nice To Haves

  • Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred, upon hire
  • 0 or greater than 1 year of experience preferred., upon hire

Responsibilities

  • Keep the day running smoothly and efficiently for patients and clinical team
  • Take the lead on proactively preparing patient charts, ensuring all information is obtained and up-to-date for those seen in the facility
  • Serve as a float pool resource to various clinics within designated, local region
  • Perform routine patient care responsibilities such as taking vital signs, venipuncture (blood draws), collect specimens, EKGs/ECGs, and POCTs
  • Collect patient history, perform medication reconciliation and enter information in the electronic medical record
  • Note the primary complaint/reason for patient’s visit
  • Set up instruments and equipment for medical provider (MD, DO, PA NP)
  • Assist with procedures as needed
