About The Position

Job Overview: Join out team as a Medical Assistant. The Medical Assistant functions as a pivotal member of the patient care team performing medical assisting duties. Under general supervision the Medical Assistant (MA) assists provider with patient care and all back-office duties. Ensures smooth work and patient flow within the clinic.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED) required.
  • Completion of a medical assistant diploma or certification from an accredited vocational institution, or completion of a medical assisting course at a community college is preferred.
  • One year of recent experience working in a medical facility as a medical assistant preferred.
  • Documented evidence of completion of an externship in a medical office is also desirable.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in tasks such as taking vital signs, venipuncture, and injections is required.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of the healthcare field, medical office protocols, and procedures.
  • Proficient in performing medical assistance tasks accurately and appropriately.
  • Exhibits diplomacy and tact in interpersonal interactions.
  • Capable of recognizing and addressing patient education needs through effective communication.
  • Quick to learn and retain information regarding patient care procedures.
  • Maintains a pleasant and professional demeanor in a team-oriented environment.
  • Skillful in planning, prioritizing, and completing delegated tasks efficiently.
  • Shows compassion and empathy in interactions with patients and colleagues.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Support physicians in delivering comprehensive patient care by anticipating needs and ensuring smooth workflow during examinations and treatments.
  • Manage patient records, appointments, and insurance details meticulously to ensure accurate and efficient clinic operations.
  • Uphold high standards of cleanliness and organization in exam rooms and supply areas, adhering to infection control protocols for patient safety.
  • Demonstrate strict adherence to HIPAA guidelines to protect patient privacy and confidentiality, while remaining prepared to respond effectively to emergencies as they arise.
  • Perform a wide range of clinical tasks including obtaining vital signs, assisting with minor surgeries, and conducting laboratory procedures in accordance with established protocols and best practices.
  • Actively engage in patient education initiatives, providing clear instructions on home care strategies and proper use of assistive devices to promote optimal recovery and wellness.
  • Remain flexible and responsive to evolving clinic needs, readily taking on additional responsibilities as delegated by supervisors to support the team and enhance patient care delivery.
