About The Position

The Medical Assistant serves as the initial point of contact for patient care, handling both administrative duties and direct patient care responsibilities. This role involves performing diverse activities and moderately complex administrative, operational, and customer support tasks, including computations. The Medical Assistant reports directly to the Center Administrator. This position is part of Conviva Senior Primary Care, which is dedicated to providing proactive, preventive care to seniors, encompassing wellness visits, physical examinations, chronic condition management, screenings, and treatment for minor injuries. Requirements

• Successful completion of MA school/training program or a Certified/Registered Medical Assistant or 5+ years of experience and approval from Provider
• Phlebotomy experience
• Medication/vaccine administration experience
• CPR Certified
• Ability to screen for TB (if selected for this role)

Nice To Haves

• Certified or Registered (required in Arizona, Indiana, and South Carolina)
• Bilingual in English and Spanish
• Value-based Care experience including knowledge of HEDIS, CPT/ICD coding, and CAHPS/HOS Patient Experience

Responsibilities

• Document patient symptoms in EMR
• Take and record vital signs
• Administer injections
• Perform diagnostic tests
• Collect specimens and draw blood
• Sterilize equipment
• Maintain examination rooms
• Perform varied activities and moderately complex administrative/operational/customer support assignments
• Perform computations
• Run the Tuberculosis (TB) screening program
