About The Position
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Full-Time Medical Assistant/Derm Tech to join our growing team. The Medical Assistant supports our exceptional dermatologists and PA by providing both clinical and administrative care, including patient rooming, taking histories, assisting with biopsies, scribing in EMR, preparing surgical trays, and educating patients. They ensure clinic efficiency by managing supplies, sterilizing instruments, and handling pathology specimens.
Requirements
- Certification as Medical Assistant or Derm Tech (or able to obtain in 30 days of hire)
- Able to perform duties of the job
- Ability to travel as required/assigned
- Knowledge of Mohs surgery techniques and procedures
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Responsibilities
- Rooming patients
- Recording vitals
- Reviewing medical histories
- Updating medications
- Prepping for exams
- Assisting with skin cancer screenings
- Assisting with biopsies
- Assisting with excisions
- Assisting with cryotherapy
- Assisting with cosmetic injections
- Documenting patient encounters, including chief complaints and treatment plans in Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
- Providing pre- and post-operative instructions
- Removing sutures
- Applying dressings
- Managing pathology logs
- Processing prior authorizations for medications
- Cleaning/sterilizing instruments
- Restocking exam rooms
- Managing supplies
- Handling pathology specimens
