About The Position

Chestnut Health Systems is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant to work with adult patients participating in our residential substance use treatment program. Hours include Monday through Friday 1:30 pm – 10:00 pm. No weekends! Tuition reimbursement and loan repayment opportunities available. Chestnut is committed to delivering high-quality residential treatment and supportive services for adults participating in residential substance use treatment and has been providing services in our community since the early 1970s. Requirements

Minimum high school diploma or equivalent; successful completion of Medical Assistant or Certified Nursing Assistant training program; current CMA or CNA certification; excellent organizational and interpersonal skills; basic computer skills; experience using MS Word, Excel, and Outlook as well as an electronic medical record; the ability to assist in common medical and office procedures.

Responsibilities

Work with nursing team to carry out the health care plan designed by the Practitioners.
Administer treatments and/or medication prescribed by Practitioners.
Interview clients for the purpose of gathering health history, nursing evaluation, admissions and discharges.
Observe and document patient self-administration of medication.
Assist nursing team with inventory management.
Assist nursing team with admissions and discharges.
Administer and document medical tests as appropriate.
Provide support and guidance to patients in maintaining a therapeutic environment.
