About The Position

As a Medical Assistant at Phoenix Heart, you will be an integral part of our high-performing cardiology team. In this critical support role, you will help deliver top-tier care to our patients by providing clinical and administrative assistance that ensures efficient, compassionate, and seamless healthcare delivery.

Requirements

2+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant, preferably in cardiology
Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program
Able to perform complex medical assistant tasks including test/treatments within the clinical scope
BLS certified, or able to attain certification within 30 days of employment
Excellent interpersonal skills, with ability to interact effectively and work efficiently with people at all levels in the organization
Excellent verbal & written communication skills
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPPA regulations
High level of proficiency with PC based software programs
High school diploma or equivalent
National Medical Assistant Certification

Responsibilities

Assisting cardiologist and nurse practitioners in clinical procedures and examinations
Recording patient medical histories, vital signs, and other relevant information accurately
Maintaining and updating electronic health records (HER) with accuracy and confidentiality
Visually screening patients for urgent needs; calling emergency services when necessary
Ensuring a clean and organized patient care environment
Assisting with medical equipment maintenance and sterilization
Assisting with incoming/outgoing calls and messages; documenting calls and actions taken
Participating in the monitoring of patients with chronic disease and extended care benefits including verification of eligibility and status of service
Participating as a member of the interdisciplinary team
Assisting co-workers, to include, but not limited to floating to other locations
Demonstrating a high level of professionalism, empathy, and patient-centered care
