About The Position

As a Medical Assistant at Phoenix Heart, you will be an integral part of our high-performing cardiology team. In this critical support role, you will help deliver top-tier care to our patients by providing clinical and administrative assistance that ensures efficient, compassionate, and seamless healthcare delivery.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant, preferably in cardiology
  • Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program
  • Able to perform complex medical assistant tasks including test/treatments within the clinical scope
  • BLS certified, or able to attain certification within 30 days of employment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with ability to interact effectively and work efficiently with people at all levels in the organization
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPPA regulations
  • High level of proficiency with PC based software programs
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • National Medical Assistant Certification

Responsibilities

  • Assisting cardiologist and nurse practitioners in clinical procedures and examinations
  • Recording patient medical histories, vital signs, and other relevant information accurately
  • Maintaining and updating electronic health records (HER) with accuracy and confidentiality
  • Visually screening patients for urgent needs; calling emergency services when necessary
  • Ensuring a clean and organized patient care environment
  • Assisting with medical equipment maintenance and sterilization
  • Assisting with incoming/outgoing calls and messages; documenting calls and actions taken
  • Participating in the monitoring of patients with chronic disease and extended care benefits including verification of eligibility and status of service
  • Participating as a member of the interdisciplinary team
  • Assisting co-workers, to include, but not limited to floating to other locations
  • Demonstrating a high level of professionalism, empathy, and patient-centered care
