About The Position

We are a busy Weight Management office with a collaborative, dynamic team of bariatric surgeons, Obesity Medicine providers, dietitians and behavioral health providers. We are a close team, passionate about the treatment of the disease of obesity and focused on providing a place that patients come to feel safe and understood. This position is primarily clinical: rooming patients, triage, prior authorizations for medications & bariatric surgery as well as prepping charts and in-basket work. The office is open Mon-Friday, 8am - 5pm. We welcome your application! Summary: The Medical Assistant I role is assigned duties and responsibilities related to patient care and administrative support in a team-based environment while promoting a smooth flow of patients through the office. The Medical Assistant I functions under the license of the physician/advanced practice practitioner when performing clinical and other patient care responsibilities.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • Must meet one of the following requirements: Graduated from an accredited vocational institution or community college in Medical Assisting with 160 hours of clinical experience completed; or completion of an Adult Education Medical Assistant program and 6 months of clinical experience in a practice setting; or 1 year of clinical experience in a multi-provider practice setting (equivalent experience will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
  • Current AAMA, NHA, AMT, or NCCT certification preferred or achieved within 1 year of eligibility.
  • Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date. Fully remote care team members are exempt from BLS certification requirement.
  • A NH Med Tech License, or NH EMT and National Registry EMT license is required for those positions located in New Hampshire.
  • Relevant experience as a Medical Assistant preferred.
