About The Position

The Medical Assistant plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of healthcare services at Long Island Select Healthcare Inc. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of a Medical Assistant training program or equivalent experience.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR.
  • Medical Assisting
  • Phlebotomy
  • Strong communication skills
  • Attention to detail

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience as a Medical Assistant in a clinical setting.
  • Certification as a Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA).
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.

Responsibilities

  • Perform clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, drawing blood, and preparing specimens for laboratory testing.
  • Assist healthcare providers during examinations and procedures, ensuring that all necessary instruments and supplies are readily available.
  • Manage patient scheduling, answer phone calls, and provide information to patients regarding their appointments and medical inquiries.
  • Maintain a clean and sterile environment by following proper sterilization protocols and ensuring that medical instruments are properly cared for.
  • Document patient information accurately in electronic health records and assist in the management of patient files.
  • Answering incoming calls and returning patient messages promptly and professionally.
  • Scheduling and confirming appointments, procedures, and follow-up visits.
