This PART-TIME/PRN position will support Lung Center Downtown and its surrrounding hub site locations. Monday/Tuesday availability required. The "Medical Office Specialist" provides Front/Back office duties to various pulmonary providers in an outpatient setting. This position is a traveling Medical Assistant/Medical Office Specialist who will be primarily supporting providers at offsite clinic locations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • A minimum of one-year experience, preferably in a medical office setting.
  • Will be required to travel to satellite offices including but not limited to: Overlea, Lutherville, Reisterstown, Glen Burnie, Ellicott City

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients in a courteous and friendly manner, providing a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Schedule and confirm patient appointments and procedures
  • Verify patient insurance information and collect co-pays or fees as needed.
  • Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and provide information to patients and other callers.
  • Complete patient check-in and check-out processes.
  • Take patient vital signs, record medical histories, and update electronic health records (EHR).
  • Maintaining and stocking exam rooms
  • Provide patient education and instructions as directed by healthcare providers.
  • Other duties as assigned
