The Medical Assistant performs a key role in assisting healthcare providers with the examination and care of patients. They are trained to perform both administrative and clinical duties under the direct supervision of a health care provider. Clinical duties involve assisting providers in basic aspects of patient care. Administrative duties involve interdepartmental collaboration to ensure smooth daily operations. Garnet Health System provides a compensation range to comply with the New York State law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent.
2 years medical assistant experience within the last 5 years, or graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant Program within the last 5 years.
Current BLS certification
Work requires considerable variety of fairly steady active physical exertion with some and/or continuous standing or walking.
Work requires moderate speed and accuracy, excellent keyboarding skills for scheduling and electronic medical records.
Ability to foster collaborative relationships, to work well under pressure, to organize and synthesize new information, and prioritize tasks.
Possesses critical thinking, analytical skills and flexibility.
Ability to multi-task.
Required detailed attention to work in an environment where interruptions cannot be controlled.
Demonstrates sensitivity to customer needs and expectations.

Nice To Haves

Doctor’s office or other practice experience preferred.
Certified Medical Assistant preferred.
