Medical Assistant – Community-Based & Day Center Care

United Methodist Retirement CommunitiesYpsilanti, MI

About The Position

Join our Huron Valley PACE team as a Medical Assistant and make a meaningful impact every day! This role blends hands-on clinical care with administrative support to keep our clinic running smoothly. You’ll assist with exams, procedures, documentation, and participant coordination — all while supporting a mission that helps older adults age with independence. Because this is a community-based PACE program, you’ll also play an essential role in supporting care both onsite and out in the community. Candidates with home care or community-based field experience are strongly encouraged to apply, as these skills help ensure we deliver seamless, person-centered care across settings.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Experience in a medical office, clinic, homecare, or community-based field setting strongly preferred.
  • Active Medical Assistant certification or license in the State of Michigan.
  • Current CPR certification (Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers) required.
  • Solid understanding of medical terminology, office procedures, and basic clinical tasks.
  • Comfortable using computers, phones, fax machines, and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Excellent organization and multitasking skills — able to balance patient care with administrative tasks.
  • A reliable team player who communicates clearly and builds positive relationships with participants, families, and coworkers.
  • Must have reliable transportation to commute to and from work.

Nice To Haves

  • We’re happy to train the right candidate — especially someone with community/homecare experience!
