About The Position

As a Medical Assistant, you will be the first contact for patient care, responsible for administrative responsibilities in addition to patient care. Working onsite in a clinical environment and reporting to the Center Administrator, you will perform varied activities and moderately complex administrative, operational, and customer support assignments. The position is located at the Conviva Senior Primary Care office at 802 Enterprise Blvd., Rockport, TX 78382. You will be reporting to the Manager, Clinic/Center Administration. Conviva Senior Primary Care provides proactive, preventive care to seniors, including wellness visits, physical exams, chronic condition management, screenings, minor injury treatment and more. Requirements

  • An active Certified Medical Assistant/CMA or Registered Medical Assistant/RMA certification from one of the following organizations: AAH, AAMA, AMT, ARMA, MedCa, NAHP, NAHT, NCCT, or NHA
  • Successful completion of MA school/training program or a Certified/Registered Medical Assistant or 5+ years of experience and approval from Provider
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ years of MA experience
  • Phlebotomy experience
  • Medication/vaccine administration experience
  • CPR Certified
  • Screen for Tuberculosis (TB) if selected for this role

Nice To Haves

  • 1+ years of experience in a PCO center
  • Value-based Care experience includes knowledge of HEDIS, CPT/ICD coding, and CAHPS/HOS Patient Experience

Responsibilities

  • Perform administrative responsibilities in addition to patient care
  • Perform varied activities and moderately complex administrative, operational, and customer support assignments
  • Perform pre-visit planning based on patient visit type
  • Obtain and record medical history and vital signs
  • Room patients and assist healthcare providers with medical procedures and treatments
  • Perform specimen collection and point of care testing
  • Prepare and administer medication under the direction of healthcare provider
  • Ensure accurate documentation in the electronic health record (HER) and electronic medical record (EMR) systems, including documentation of HEDIS and Stars quality measures
