About The Position

Toledo Clinic's Pediatric Office, located in Oregon Ohio, is seeking a part-time Medical Assistant. This position will be scheduled on Tuesdays (9:00-2:00 or 10:00-3:00), Wednesdays (9:30-5:00), and Fridays (8:30-5:00). Qualified candidates will have previous experience working in a Pediatric office performing both front desk and clinical duties (including vaccinations). Also required is the RMA/CMA/CCMA credential or the ability to obtain such credential within 60 days of hire. Toledo Clinic is offering a $2,000 Sign-On Bonus to qualified Medical Assistants. If qualified, sign on bonuses are payable within 30 days of hire to employees that have active and verified credentials (ex: RMA/CMA/CCMA/CPCT-A). For employees that have not yet obtained or renewed their credential, the Sign-On Bonus is payable once the credential is obtained and verified. After one year of service, qualified Medical Assistants may be eligible for an additional $2,000 Retention Bonus. General Summary: Assist providers with patient treatment, prepares patient for providers, and performs various front desk/clerical duties. Works under the supervision of the Office Manager.

Requirements

  • Previous clinical and administrative experience in a Pediatric Office.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills required.
  • Consistently arrives at work, in professional attire, on time and completes all tasks within established time frame.
  • Seeks appropriate tasks when primary tasks are completed and assists co-workers as needed.
  • Demonstrates adaptability to expanded roles.
  • Credentialed as a Medical Assistant (i.e.: CMA, CCMA or RMA)
  • Medicare Exclusion List
  • Adheres to all Toledo Clinic policies and procedures.
  • Medical Assisting degree or diploma from an accredited school required.

Responsibilities

  • Escorting patients to exam room.
  • Various clerical duties (answering phones, scheduling appointments, handling patient charts, patient check in/check out).
  • Assist providers with patient care.
  • Preparing exam rooms.
  • Preparing patient for providers (i.e.: histories, blood pressure, vitals, etc.).
  • Sterilizing and preparing instruments.
  • At the request of the physician, calling in prescription refills.
  • Order and maintain exam room supplies and instruments.
  • Follow up with lab work and/or xrays.
  • Administering injections/vaccinations
  • Other duties as assigned.
