About The Position

We are looking for a full time Medical Assistant to join our team in Vancouver, WA. This position is responsible for patient care activities to assist within our Neurosurgery practice and will work with multiple providers and rotate to multiple locations. The ideal candidate will possess great organizational skills and energy, a can-do attitude, a desire to learn the practice, and a collaborative team spirit. The candidate will also possess excellent interpersonal skills, a superior commitment to patient care, and the ability to work closely with patients and physicians.

Requirements

  • Education: Graduation from high school or GED. Graduate from a Medical Assisting Program.
  • Certificate/License: BLS Certification. Valid Washington State certification to practice medical assisting.
  • Experience: Two years customer service experience, preferably in a clinic or medical office setting. Experience as a Medical Assistant preferred.
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Knowledge of examination, diagnostic, and treatment room procedures. Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to maintain a safe work environment. Skill in maintaining records and recording test results. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and the public. Ability to read, understand and respond to detailed oral and written instructions. Ability to communicate clearly. Ability reason independently, computer proficiency and dependability.

Responsibilities

  • Room patients and coordinate patient flow.
  • Assist providers with PAC’s systems and importing CD’s.
  • Assist with ancillary scheduling by initiating requests as ordered by provider.
  • Check out patients, making return appointments and completing the patient plan.
  • Coordinate communication with patient and providers including phone calls, tasking and processing paperwork.
  • Maintain exam rooms and Medical Assistant stations.
  • Handle laundry, disinfect exam room and maintain sharps containers to comply with safety protocol.
  • Attend required meetings, in-services and participate in committees as requested.
  • Keep current on OSHA and HIPAA guidelines.
  • Maintain a high degree of confidentiality and abide by all HIPAA rules and regulations.
  • Work at different Rebound locations as needed and scheduled by supervisor.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
