You are the dynamic, passionate Medical Assistant we are looking for. Your expertise and professionalism are what our patients need at our Behavioral Health office located at our Portland, IN You will be integral in providing professional medical care as a Medical Assistant to behavioral healthcare patients. Our commitment to whole person healthcare and your desire to help change our communities for the better will make us an amazing Team! This is a full-time position working Monday through Friday 8am - 5pm. Travel, up to 30% for training and coverage as needed within the County may be necessary.

Requirements

  • Medical Assisting Diploma required--but we welcome new grads!
  • A valid driver's license with a driving record meeting Meridian's driving policy, reliable transportation, and proof of auto insurance

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Medical Assistant with six months to 1 year experience in a clinical setting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Taking vitals and weight
  • Giving injections
  • Assist providers
  • Pass medications
  • Answering phone calls
  • greeting clients
  • updating patient information
  • filling out insurance paperwork and prior approvals
  • helping the provider to complete arrangements for referrals, admissions and laboratory referrals.
  • Screen provider phone calls and assist with problem calls
  • Give TB tests for employees
  • Dispose of contaminated supplies
  • Fax and phoning in of patient medications to pharmacies
  • Maintain confidentiality and use good judgment within the limits of the CMA guidelines and follow department policies and procedures
