Job Overview Shriners Children's New England has an opportunity for a Certified Medical Assistant to join our team. The position is day shift, Monday - Friday. The pay range for this position is $19.69 hourly to $29.54 hourly. Compensation is determined based on years of experience and department equity. Responsibilities Under the leadership of the Outpatient Department Manager and the indirect supervision of Physicians/APPs, the Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) assists with the delivery of patient care in the clinic by maintaining clinic flow, obtains routine clinical information on patients/family, provides physical care of the patients, procures and maintains par levels of clinic supplies, and provides light clerical assistance. Additional Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) tasks include: Transcribing of delegated orders into the EMR Casting/splint application, maintenance guidance and removal Obtaining specimens, including performing venipuncture

Requirements

  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program
  • Ability to sit for certification exam from nationally recognized organization (i.e. American Association for Medical Assistants)

Nice To Haves

  • One to two years' experience as a Medical Assistant
  • Associate's degree
  • Two years' pediatric care experience
  • National Board for Certification of Orthopedic Technology
  • Certified Phlebotomy Technician
