Medical Assistant – Endocrinology

Medical Assistant – Endocrinology Southwoods Health Boardman, OH | Full-time | Mon–Thu, 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM (Four 10-Hour Shifts) Join Our Team Southwoods Health is seeking a professional Medical Assistant to join our Endocrinology office in Boardman, Ohio. In this role, you will work with a dedicated clinical team and partner with physicians to deliver comprehensive, high-quality patient care. You will be responsible for a wide range of skilled clinical and administrative duties in a specialized medical environment.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program with a diploma.
• Active certification through one of the following: RMA (American Medical Technologists) CMA (American Association of Medical Assistants) CCMA (National Healthcareer Association)
• Minimum of one (1) year of direct work experience as a Medical Assistant.
• Current BLS Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Clinical Intake: Room patients efficiently using two patient identifiers; accurately obtain and record vital signs, chief complaints, medications, and allergies in the EMR.
• Laboratory Procedures: Collect and store specimens according to protocol; prepare lab specimens for transport while maintaining positive identification throughout processing.
• Clinical Communication: Promptly report and record critical lab values, adverse reactions, and pertinent information to the physician and clinical team.
• Administrative Operations: Schedule patient appointments, manage phone inquiries, maintain accurate medical records, and perform other office duties as assigned.
• Patient Experience: Foster a welcoming, friendly, and professional environment through exceptional customer service and support of patient rights.
• Compliance: Ensure all practice processes maintain compliance with regulatory agencies and uphold HIPAA standards.
