About The Position

Plays a vital role in healthcare settings by providing both administrative and clinical support to physicians, nurses, and other medical staff. This position prepares patients for examinations, takes vital signs, assists during medical procedures, and performs routine office duties including scheduling appointments, managing medical records, and processing insurance documentation. Medical Assistants ensure efficient clinic operations while delivering high-quality patient care.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Ability to read, write, and understand verbal and written communication

Nice To Haves

  • Previous Medical Assistant experience
  • Medical Assistant certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Record and report pertinent patient information, including treatments, observations, test results, and patient complaints, to the appropriate nurse or provider
  • Assist physicians with examinations and medical procedures
  • Prepare patients for examinations and take vital signs
  • Administer injections as authorized by physicians
  • Ensure patient safety and assist in maintaining a clean, safe clinical environment
  • Maintain responsibility for patient care equipment
  • Assist with orientation of new personnel
  • Perform duties independently with minimal supervision
  • Screen telephone calls and messages for providers and respond when appropriate
  • Schedule surgeries, outpatient services, and diagnostic procedures as ordered by physicians
  • Process prescription requests, prior authorizations, and referrals
