Bulfinch Temps is currently hiring for Medical Assistants to work in long term temp assignment in ambulatory practices at MGH. These roles are M-F Day shift 40 hours per week. You must be available for Boston area sites, north, and west. Please note these roles are not benefits eligible. Pay starts at $21.00 per hour and goes up based on years of experience, please disregard the range listed below Job Summary Directs patient to exam room, obtains and records accurate routine patient vital signs, prepares patient for examination, and assists performing procedures, injections and other treatments as ordered by provider.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required
  • Direct MA experience or medical field work 0-1 year preferred
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks in complex and busy environment.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Comply with all local, state and federal privacy and confidentiality rules and regulations.
  • Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
  • Managing one's own time and the time of others.

Responsibilities

  • Interview patients to obtain medical information and measure their vital signs, weight, and height.
  • Show patients to examination rooms and prepare them for the physician.
  • Record patients' medical history, vital statistics, or information such as test results in medical records.
  • Perform general office duties, such as answering telephones, taking dictation, or completing insurance forms.
  • Collect blood, tissue, or other laboratory specimens, log the specimens, and prepare them for testing.
  • Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations, keeping the rooms neat, clean and supplies stocked
  • Clean and sterilize instruments and dispose of contaminated supplies.
