Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Adaptable, dependable, and collaborative team player
• Committed to patient confidentiality and quality care
• Organized, detail-oriented, and proactive
• Comfortable using electronic health records and clinical systems

Nice To Haves

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
• At least one year of experience in a clinical setting
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) fluency

Responsibilities

• Welcome and prepare patients for visits, collecting vital signs and health information
• Assist providers with exams, procedures, and treatments within your scope of practice
• Administer medications and vaccines in accordance with provider orders and within the Medical Assistant scope of practice
• Perform routine tests (such as vision and hearing screenings) and assist with lab specimens
• Maintain accurate documentation using our Electronic Health Record (EHR) system
• Help manage prescription refill requests and medication reconciliations
• Provide clear patient education and support as directed by the provider
• Participate in team huddles, trainings, and continuous quality improvement efforts
• Occasionally travel to support other MCHC sites as needed
• Gain experience by cross-training in family medicine, pediatrics, internal medicine, psychiatry, and specialty services.
