Join our team as a Medical Assistant, supporting the clinical, phlebotomy, and procedure suite areas under the supervision of the Director of Clinical Operations, RNs, and MDs. This role plays a crucial part in maintaining quality care and efficient patient flow within our Clinical and Reproductive Services (CARS) team.

Requirements

  • CARS operates 363 days per year, with the potential for weekend, holiday, or evening shifts based on patient needs.
  • Candidates must be flexible and available to work in either the Farmington or Hartford locations as assigned by the supervisor.
  • This role requires regular walking, standing, and lifting, with possible exposure to infectious materials.
  • Candidates should have the strength and stamina necessary for effective patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain smooth patient flow by performing routine procedures (vital signs, BMI, allergy assessments) and assisting with medical exams and specialized procedures, including ultrasounds, sonohystograms, endometrial biopsies, and in-office hysteroscopies.
  • Conduct phlebotomy and specialty test draws, process samples, and perform CLIA-approved tests as part of diagnostic workflows.
  • Support patient documentation, chart preparation, data entry, and manage clinical resources like education packets and class materials.
  • Ensure a safe working environment by following sterilization protocols, performing routine equipment maintenance, and adhering to preventative maintenance policies.
  • Coordinate with nursing and medical staff to report patient observations and needs.
  • Act as a liaison with vendors for supplies and equipment maintenance.
  • Acclimate new medical, nursing, and assistant staff to clinical services and procedure suite competencies.
