About The Position

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of a medical assistant training program.
  • Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or equivalent.
  • The required skills for this position, such as medical assisting and phlebotomy, are utilized daily to ensure that patients receive timely and effective care.
  • Proficiency in using medical instruments and performing sterilization techniques is essential for maintaining a safe and hygienic environment.
  • The ability to draw blood and process specimens accurately is critical for supporting diagnostic procedures and treatment plans.
  • Strong organizational skills are necessary for managing patient records and coordinating appointments, which directly impacts the efficiency of the healthcare team.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a clinical setting, preferably in a healthcare facility.
  • Knowledge of electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Bilingual skills to assist diverse patient populations.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for examinations by taking vital signs and medical histories.
  • Assist healthcare providers during examinations and procedures, ensuring a sterile environment.
  • Perform phlebotomy and specimen processing, including the collection and handling of samples.
  • Manage patient records and ensure accurate documentation of medical information.
  • Schedule appointments and coordinate patient flow to optimize clinic efficiency.
