Provides general medical care under the direction of a licensed provider to patients in an outpatient clinic setting. This position works directly with a franchised business location. The specific job duties and benefits can vary between franchises. Requirements

  • Two-year college or technical school for Medical Assistant; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be willing to work evenings, weekends and holidays.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Medical Assistants are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Check patients in for their visits, running insurance, and collecting copays
  • Schedule appointments or answer necessary questions during phone calls
  • Obtain patient vitals, medical history, and reason for visit, and prepare the patient for a physical exam
  • Ensure all ordered tests are performed accurately and in a timely manner
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with the approved procedure
  • Draw blood and preparation labs for reference lab processing and/or in-house processing
  • Administer medications and vaccines via inter-muscular injections
  • Perform laboratory tests, lab-quality controls, and equipment maintenance according to written instructions
  • Perform all drug screening procedures in accordance with established rules and regulations
  • Maintain complete and accurate documentation
  • Prepare exam rooms; sterilize instruments, equipment, and supplies for procedures
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
