About The Position

Medical Assistants are essential members of the care team. They provide clinical support to both patients and providers to ensure that the patient's health care needs are addressed, while also contributing to the smooth operation of the clinic by facilitating patient flow. This position will provide support in an urgent care setting, allowing for effective patient care. Under the supervision and direction of the Registered Nurse, patient care responsibilities will include but are not limited to: preparing patients for well and sick visits according to protocol, performing hearing and vision tests, specimen collection and transporting as needed, height, weight, vitals and other point of care testing per protocol as well as assisting providers as needed. Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • graduate from an accredited medical assistant program or completion of an approved certified medical assistant training program preferred
  • American Heart Association/American Red Cross BLS Provider Certification required
  • One year of previous experience as a medical assistant, or currently enrolled in a nursing program and have completed two cycles of clinical rotation, or equivalent experience as determined by the CNO or designee

Nice To Haves

  • Medical Assisting Certificate preferred
  • Phlebotomy skills preferred
  • Knowledge of a second language preferred
