Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program
  • One year of experience in medical assistant role
  • Active BLS or CPR certification

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Medical Assistant
  • Proficient in Google G-Suite

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients in a professional and welcoming manner both in person and on the phone
  • May take vital signs as directed by the on site RN/LVN and record findings in AIMS
  • Assists in controlling patient flow in conjunction with site clinician, i.e. greeting and room patients
  • Cleans infusion chairs between patients and at the end of the day
  • Prep charts for scheduled infusions
  • Obtains all necessary patient records as required by treatment protocol, which may include clinic EMR or outside resources
  • Appropriately communicates with physicians, staff, patients and Altus colleagues through various methods (i.e. phone, EMR, chat, email)
  • Works the unscheduled patient report for the assigned site and attends weekly collaboration meeting to ensure all patients are scheduled timely
  • Assists with scheduling appointments for patients
  • Assist with ordering of medical supplies
  • Performs other duties as assigned
