About The Position

Putnam County Hospital is looking for a part-time Medical Assistant to join the Putnam Specialty Clinics team! Job Summary: Assists in both registration and rooming of patients.

Requirements

HS Graduate or Equivalent
< 1 Year of Related Experience
License/Certificate Required: Yes
Driver's License Required: Yes
Age Requirement: 18+
Understanding of completing prior authorizations and other insurance needs
Excellent customer service skills
Exceptional verbal and written commnication skills
Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
Ability to multi-task and meet multiple deadlines
Abides by all HIPAA guidelines
Abides by all hospital policies and procedures
Medical Assistant certification

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of or ability to quickly learn current electronic medical record (Allscripts, Epic)
Familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, and other insurances

Responsibilities

Assists with in office procedures
Collects vitals, weight, and patient information and completes any intial testing in preparation for provider
Completes medication reconciliation
Orders any testing or labs requested by provider
Completes all Prior Authorizations for tests and surgeries ordered
Efficiently conducts check-in, check-out, and rescheduling procedures as needed
Prepares meds for injections
Calls patients with results
Completes FMLA paperwork
Maintains stock
Scans/indexes medical records
Performs other duties as assigned
