Core Clinical Time: 50% • Attend multidisciplinary huddles to review patient lists • Prepare exam rooms and ensure cleanliness and safety • Restock linens, medical supplies and maintain par levels; alert logistics staff when supplies are low • Clean/disinfect patient care areas and equipment • Assist with dressing, walking, and general mobility • Obtain vital signs, height and weight per standard of care • Complete rooming functions (review allergies and pharmacy, update medication list and medical record as required) • Maintain clean, safe clinical environment • Escalate clinical concerns to clinician • Adhere to all infection control and safety precautions according to established policies • Follow established procedures in the delivery and storage of medications • Greet and prepare patients for the visit, including escorting and confirming patient identification • Actively listen and respond to patient concerns to ensure they feel heard, respected, and supported throughout their care journey • Maintain a welcoming and empathetic environment by treating every patient and visitor interaction with compassion, professionalism, and cultural sensitivity • Ensure all documentation is complete, timely, and complies with regulatory and organizational policies • Participate in post-clinic huddles Technical Skills Time: 50% • Assist with physical exams and procedures • Perform point-of-care tests according to established policies • Obtain, prepare and label collected specimens • Ensure timely delivery of specimens to appropriate destinations according to established policies • Obtain blood specimens via peripheral venipuncture • Perform electrocardiograms (EKGs) • Transfer the oxygen set up from the patient tank to the MSK (Memorial Sloan Kettering) tank; never adjust the oxygen flow rate • Act as a chaperone in the exam room • Prepare patients for procedures, assemble appropriate supplies and equipment, and assist as directed by clinician • Pre-cleaning instruments for high-level disinfection/sterilization • Process and organize instruments and/or scopes daily • Assisting with more specialized procedures (e.g., minor surgeries, scopes, etc.)
