About The Position

The Certified Medical Assistant (MA-C) is an integral part of the Physician/Advanced Practice Provider (APP) office team, working under the direction and supervision of a licensed healthcare practitioner. This role requires the performance of safe clinical skills within the scope of practice of the MA-C and involves continuous contact with physicians, APPs, nurses, front office staff, patients, and their families/caregivers. Requirements

• Washington State Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C)
• Current BLS certification

Nice To Haves

• Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a healthcare setting preferred

Responsibilities

• Organizing patient flow in collaboration with the front office staff
• Interviewing patients
• Obtaining vital signs
• Assisting patients in preparing for exams or treatments
• Performing specimen collection, including venipuncture
• Administration of medications in compliance with Washington State Department of Health regulations and documented competency
• Relaying instructions/information to patients and their families/caregivers
• Sending and receiving of patient medical records
• Facilitating patient referrals
• Preparing forms for patients
