We are looking for a Medical Assistant with strong clinical skills, excellent communication, and concierge-level service to support care within an employer-sponsored health center. This is a full-time (40 hours/week), onsite role in Providence, RI, serving employees of PPL Corporation and its affiliate, Rhode Island Energy, within the Healthy for Life Clinic. In this role, you’ll support both primary care and occupational health services, working closely with the provider to ensure seamless clinic operations and an exceptional patient experience.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Medical Assistant certification or diploma from an accredited MA program.
  • Current BLS Certification required.
  • Minimum one year of recent experience in a medical setting, OR entry through an approved CareATC Internship or school-sponsored externship program.
  • Excellent patient care skills, great communication, and strong customer service abilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting occupational health services preferred

Responsibilities

  • Greet and room patients, measure and record vital signs, and maintain clean exam rooms.
  • Perform and support DOT and non-DOT physicals, urine drug screen collections, and breath alcohol testing.
  • Assist with and follow up on EKGs, PFTs, and audiograms as needed.
  • Obtain blood and urine samples, demonstrating strong phlebotomy proficiency, and carry out other clinical duties as needed.
  • Execute necessary clerical responsibilities to ensure smooth clinic operations.
  • Exhibit good clinical judgment within the scope of the role, with or without the provider present.
  • Follow all clinical and clerical protocols per company policy.
